aBOUT THE aDNOVAR base camp sMALL BUSINESS GRANT

In 2022 we awarded five £1,000 grants to small businesses that want to impact the world positively. The grants also come with six months of free one-to-one support from one of us and a series of collaborative workshops with other grant holders worth over £1,800.

Grant applications are currently closed, but you can register your details to be the first to hear about future opportunities here.

Adnovar supports small businesses that share our values to reach their potential. Sometimes a small amount of extra cash in the bank and someone to talk to make everything feel that bit more possible, and that’s how we can help. Find out more and how to apply below.

What is included?

What can the money be used for?

Anything! But you need to demonstrate how it can help your business reach its potential and have a positive impact on the world.

What's the catch?

No catch - we want you to commit to positive impact, attend the peer and 1-2-1 sessions, and spend the money wisely. Beyond that, there is no commitment.

what is included in the 1-2-1 support?

Beyond the money, we're also including 6 months worth of 1-2-1 support with a Strategy Consultant and Mentor worth over £1,800.

Sometimes as business owners we're so close to the day-to-day that it's difficult to step back and focus on the bigger picture. At times it feels like the business is running your life and not you running the business.  Working with a mentor will give you access to a supportive, critical friend who will help you to look up and ensure you make meaningful progress towards your ultimate ambition. We have expertise to share across a range of areas such as business planning, business finance, product and service innovation, marketing and branding, company culture and employee engagement.

HOw do the collaborative peer workshops work?

Sometimes running a business can feel lonely, but you don't have to do it alone. Access to a supportive network of business owners is incredibly powerful and as part of the grant we will be running monthly online workshop sessions which will give you a chance to meet other grant holders, share your biggest challenges, help to solve problems and support each other.

How many grants are available?

There are up to five grants available at this stage. Applications are currently closed.

What qualifies as 'positive impact'?

We have an open-mind about what ‘positive impact’ means – there are so many varied and wonderful ways we can make the world a better place. Your impact might be global, or it could be targeted and local. Your business might be having the impact already, or the grant might help you to have a positive impact in the future.

The UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development offer a good way of thinking about what the world needs and might help you think about your impact. The goals are no poverty, zero hunger, good health and wellbeing, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land and peace and justice.
